K-Number Locks (or K-Number Konfusion)
A K-number stamped on your lock is not enough on its own to identify the right key. Several manufacturers use K-number codes, and the keys are not interchangeable between brands. Read on for how to narrow it down.
Multiple manufacturers use K-number codes on their locks, but the keys are different across brands. If we only know the K-number, we may have to cut several keys before finding the right one. The K-numbers we see most often come from:
- Kimbal
- Knoll
- Storwall
- Commodor
- Reff (by Dom)
To get you the right key the first time, we need more than just the number. Email us a clear photo of the lock with the code visible, and tell us anything you know about the cabinet brand.
